Bahrain's Foreign Minister condemned Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Jordan, describing them as serious violations of the United Nations Charter, international and humanitarian law.

The condemnation follows sustained Iranian strikes on Gulf states since the war erupted on February 28. Bahrain has suffered direct impacts from Iranian Shahed-136 drones, including one which struck a military base, Al Jazeera reported. Iran has targeted US forces in the Gulf region in response to American strikes, with civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, private property, and economic and oil facilities sustaining damage across targeted countries.

"These Iranian attacks that terrorise innocent civilians, especially during the month of Ramadan, are completely unjustified, given the commitment of the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] countries and Arab states to peace, dialogue, diplomacy and mediation as strategic options for resolving conflicts," Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani stated in a press release.

Al Zayani added that GCC security is indivisible under the organisation's Charter and Joint Defence Agreement, asserting the right to self-defence. He called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume legal responsibilities through immediate and decisive measures to stop Iranian violations and ensure the security of airspace and maritime routes.
