Saudi's Red Sea International wins SAR202.8mn Trojena ski resort facilities contract

Red Sea International Company signed a SAR202.8mn ($54mn) contract with Italy's Webuild to provide integrated facilities management services for NEOM's Trojena project, the company announced on December 23.
The two-year agreement covers operation and maintenance of main and secondary camps supporting Webuild-NEOM's Trojena Dam project in line with NEOM workers' welfare requirements and applicable kingdom regulations, Red Sea International stated in a Tadawul filing.
The contract encompasses integrated facilities management covering accommodation and cleaning, catering and food services, security and access control, IT and communications, and facilities maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil works, roads and landscaping systems.
Services include waste management and recycling, recreational facilities, utilities comprising water, electricity, sewage and gas, fire safety and emergency response, administration and help desk operations, and support services such as pest control, training and quality assurance.
The financial impact is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026, with no related parties involved in the transaction, the company stated.
Trojena forms part of NEOM's ambitious development plans in northwest Saudi Arabia, featuring a year-round mountain destination scheduled to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
The project includes ski slopes, luxury hotels and residential developments as part of the kingdom's Vision 2030 diversification strategy.
Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia achieved first place globally in international tourism revenue growth during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2019, according to the World Tourism Barometer report issued by the UN World Tourism Organization in May 2025.
The achievement reflects the kingdom's transformation into a major tourism destination since opening its borders to international leisure tourists in 2019.
Saudi Arabia welcomed 30mn international visitors in 2024, marking a new record, whilst the country targets 70mn visitors by 2030 under its Vision 2030 diversification programme.
The kingdom ranked third globally in international tourist arrival growth during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2019, and second in the Middle East for the same period, Akhbar 247 reported on July 13.
