Annual inflation in Uzbekistan fell to 7.1% in March from 7.3% in February and compared to 10.3% in March 2025, according to the national statistical committee.

Monthly inflation in March stood at 0.6%, unchanged from February and 0.3pp lower than the figure posted a year ago.

Core inflation, which excludes fruit and vegetables, remained at 0.5% m/m and was also recorded at 7.8% y/y, less than half the figure seen in March of last year.

Over the first quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan’s prices increased 1.9%.

Food prices climbed 1.2% m/m in March, up from 0.9% m/m in February, while year-on-year food inflation slowed to 5.6% from 7.6% 12 months previously. 

Non-food items increased 0.3% m/m and 5.3% y/y, down from 7.4% y/y a year earlier. 

Fuel prices declined 0.9% m/m, with AI-92 down 0.9% m/m, AI-95 down 1.3% m/m and high-octane grades (AI-98/100) falling 0.5% m/m. Propane (LPG) dropped 3.2% m/m, while methane remained steady, but 30% above last year’s level.
