The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency reported three tankers struck by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, in warnings issued on September 30. UKMTO said the incidents were reported on September 29 in time-late reports.

UKMTO did not say who fired the projectiles and said authorities are investigating. A social media post attributed the strikes to Iran, a claim that UKMTO has not made and that has not been confirmed.

Warning 144-26 covers a crude oil tanker struck on its port side, warning 145-26 a tanker transiting inbound, and warning 146-26 an LNG tanker. UKMTO described the source of each report as verified. It gave no information on casualties, damage, flags or vessel names.

Vessels have been advised to transit with caution and report suspicious activity. The three warnings follow number 139-26, which UKMTO issued on September 18.

Saudi Arabia's cabinet on September 29 called for Strait of Hormuz conditions to be restored to those before February 28, with no fees or restrictions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

UKMTO is a Royal Navy-run service that monitors merchant shipping and issues warnings to vessels in the Gulf region. The Strait of Hormuz links the Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and is a principal route for the region's oil and liquefied natural gas exports.
