Russian bailiffs freeze accounts of Kanye West concert organiser

Russian bailiffs have frozen RUB115,500 ($1,384) in the accounts of Say Agency, the organiser of Kanye West's cancelled concerts in Russia, RIA Novosti reported on October 4.
The seizure is small, but it adds to the legal pressure on the agency after the St Petersburg shows fell through. Say Agency said it had sold 100,000 tickets, some priced at up to RUB160,000 ($1,917), Meduza reported on September 30. Refunds are due to begin on October 12.
According to bailiffs' documents, the arrest was imposed on September 30. The enforcement case was opened on a document issued by the Oktyabrsky District Court in Samara, RIA Novosti reported.
In August, Say Agency said the US rapper, who performs as Ye, would play the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg on October 10 and 11. The stadium's management later denied this, saying no lease agreements had been signed for the concerts. Albania's government has also defended €4mn in state support for a West concert in Tirana, as bne IntelliNews reported on July 8.
The organisers officially cancelled the St Petersburg concerts on September 30, Meduza reported. Prosecutors opened a check into the ticket sales on October 1, Vzglyad reported.
A further lawsuit against the organisers for RUB180,000 ($2,156) was filed in late September, Vzglyad reported.
