PAYSTRAX plans major hiring drive as Lithuanian fintech hub expands

International payments company PAYSTRAX is preparing a major recruitment drive in Lithuania – with plans to create up to 150 new fintech jobs over the next three years as it expands operations in Vilnius and Klaipeda, Invest in Lithuania, the country’s investment promoter, announced on March 10.
The Vilnius-based payment acquiring firm expects to hire around 75 specialists during 2026 alone, part of a broader strategy to scale its technology and operational capabilities. Founded in Lithuania in 2018 by two Icelandic entrepreneurs, the company has grown from a small startup into an international payments’ provider employing more than 150 people across six European offices.
The latest expansion will strengthen teams in areas such as IT, finance, marketing, operations, account management and merchant onboarding. PAYSTRAX has already moved into larger premises in Klaipeda and expanded its Vilnius headquarters by adding an additional office floor to accommodate its growing workforce.
“Lithuania has been the heart of PAYSTRAX since day one. The talent, the ecosystem, and the work culture here have been instrumental to our growth – from our very first hires to becoming an award-winning international payments company. This expansion reflects our confidence in Lithuania as the right place to build the next generation of payment solutions.”
Company leaders say Lithuania’s highly educated workforce, strong English proficiency and flexible work culture have been key reasons behind the decision to continue expanding locally. These qualities are especially valuable in the tightly regulated payments sector, where precision and adaptability are critical.
PAYSTRAX currently serves merchants in 24 countries across the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. The company operates as a principal-level card acquirer with licences from both Visa and Mastercard, supporting payments for online and point-of-sale businesses.
