Montenegro has chosen Hungary’s 4iG Group to implement large-scale ICT projects aimed at modernising law enforcement technology and establishing a state-of-the-art data centre, the company announced on March 25.

The projects fall under the intergovernmental cooperation agreement signed by Hungary and Montenegro on July 1, 2025, which aims to advance joint technological developments and expand Hungarian participation in Montenegro’s digital infrastructure programmes.

4iG Group’s subsidiary, 4iG Informatika, will deliver and integrate IT and telecommunications systems for the law enforcement programme, including equipment procurement, installation, training, and ongoing expert support. The budget for this investment exceeds €54.25mn.

Meanwhile, 4iG International Digital Infrastructure will design and operate a TIER III-certified state data centre. Preparatory consultations have begun to define final costs and financing.

The project marks 4iG Group’s first major international government contract and highlights its growing regional importance.

Present in Montenegro since 2021 through its subsidiary One Montenegro, 4iG has contributed to network upgrades, 5G rollout, and the development of the country’s digital ecosystem.

The investments are expected to strengthen Montenegro’s technological capabilities, enhance law enforcement operations, and reinforce 4iG’s position among leading ICT providers in the region.
