Iran has received a new written proposal from the United States aimed at reviving nuclear talks but has yet to respond, with senior officials saying Tehran's concerns must first be addressed, Fars News Agency reported on June 1.

Saeed Ajorloo, a member of the media team of Iran's negotiating delegation, said the new US text had been sent through intermediaries and was being reviewed by the six-member committee and the Supreme National Security Council.

"A text has been sent to Iran via mediators, but we have not yet responded to the new American proposal," Ajorloo said.

He said further revisions by the American side remained possible, adding that talks on the written text could continue through additional rounds.

"Addressing Iran's concerns is the main condition for responding to this proposal," Ajorloo said. "We have not sent a response to the new American text because we have concerns, and those concerns must be resolved before we can benefit from the negotiations."

The development follows Iran's announcement earlier on June 1 that its negotiating team had suspended talks and the exchange of texts via mediators in protest at continuing Israeli military operations in Lebanon and Gaza, IntelliNews reported.

Iran said Lebanon's ceasefire had been a precondition of the nuclear negotiations and that its violation across all fronts made continued dialogue impossible.

Iranian officials said talks would not resume until Israel halted operations in Gaza and Lebanon and withdrew fully from occupied Lebanese territory.
