Yemen's Houthis said Saudi warplanes carried out air strikes on the capital Sanaa and Saudi forces shelled and fired missiles at Saada province, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported on October 1.
The Saudi channel Al-Hadath reported bombing of Al-Nahdain and Jabal Attan, said Sanaa was hit in six rounds and reported extensive Saudi fighter jet flights over the capital.
In Saada, al-Masirah's correspondent reported Saudi artillery fire on parts of al-Dhahir and a missile strike on a communications network in Haydan. A communications network in the Saqayn area was also hit by a missile, the border town of Ghamr was shelled and Saudi artillery targeted Razih.
There was no immediate Saudi comment, however, the strikes come after a hit by Yemeni forces on a Saudi Aramco oilfield near Riyadh, according to unconfirmed reports out of the region.
The Saudi-led coalition earlier said it intercepted two ballistic missiles and four drones launched by the Houthis at Khamis Mushait and Jazan in south-western Saudi Arabia.
The strikes follow the breakdown of a 2022 UN-brokered truce, which held until July when government forces struck Sanaa airport.
The Houthis claimed 54 Saudi air strikes across six provinces on September 9-10 and have claimed strikes on Saudi navy vessels in the Red Sea, while the Iran war has closed Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb at the same time.
The Houthis seized Sanaa in late 2014, prompting the Saudi-led military intervention of 2015.
