VIDEO: Israel strikes Beirut following Hezbollah rocket barrage

The Israeli military confirmed it has begun striking Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut following projectile launches from Lebanon toward Israel, with alerts sounding across the Gaza Envelope, Negev, and Dead Sea regions.
In a public statement, Hezbollah announced that it remains “committed to defending its land and people, especially given the enemy's transgressions and crimes.”
“The resistance targeted enemy tanks that had penetrated the eastern sector, from Kfarkela and Tel Nahas to Kfarchouba and inside the Metula settlement,” Hezbollah claimed, according to Al-Akhbar.
Despite Lebanese government efforts to prevent Hezbollah from drawing Lebanon into the broader Israel-Iran conflict, the Shi’ite group proceeded to elevate strikes against Israel. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has banned the Shi'ite group from military activities, but this has not deterred Hezbollah. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir accused the Lebanese military of failing to demilitarise Hezbollah, citing this as justification for Israel's ground invasion of southern Lebanon.
At approximately 07:36 local time, IDF Spokesperson in Arabic Avichay Adraee issued an evacuation warning to residents of the Dahiyeh neighbourhood in Beirut. "You are near Hezbollah facilities that the IDF is about to take action against. For your safety and the safety of your family members, you must immediately evacuate the buildings and those adjacent to them and stay away from them for at least 300 metres," Adraee stated.
At 08:30 local time, the IDF announced it had begun striking targets in Beirut, with footage subsequently released showing strikes in the Dahiyeh neighbourhood.
Following the strikes, Northern Command Major General Rafi Milo met with military leaders near the Lebanon border. “Hezbollah made a serious mistake when it joined the campaign. It fell into a strategic ambush. We will not stop until it receives a very serious blow. We will strike the organisation with force in every part of Lebanon: whether in Beirut, Tyre, or Sidon," he stated, according to Kan News.
