US President Donald Trump is considering launching a "significant" attack on Iran following the failure of initial discussions between Washington and Tehran on constraining Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missile production, CNN reported.

Two military options are under consideration, including US air strikes targeting senior Iranian officials and security personnel believed responsible for killing protesters, alongside potential strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and government institutions. Trump has not yet made a final decision, but believes his military options have expanded since early January, according to the report.

"Like with Venezuela, it is ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfil its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary," Trump stated on Truth Social on January 28, referencing a "massive armada" headed by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln currently en route to the region. The fleet is reportedly larger than the one deployed to Venezuela.

Trump invoked previous military operations against Iran in his warning to Tehran. "As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn't, and there was 'Operation Midnight Hammer,' a major destruction of Iran. The next attack will be far worse! Don't make that happen again," he stated, pressing Tehran to negotiate while threatening military action if diplomacy fails.

Israeli reports suggest that several US and Israeli allies are expected to provide critical support in the event of military action, though most will likely avoid direct participation in strikes while offering intelligence, logistics, and defensive assistance. Jordan may provide intelligence and logistical support while contributing to intercept Iranian projectiles targeting Israel or US installations, according to local reports.

European NATO members may offer diplomatic backing, limited intelligence sharing, or base access, though domestic public opinion and fears of Iranian retaliation will likely constrain direct involvement. Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Oma,n have explicitly opposed the use of their territory or airspace for attacks on Iran, reflecting concerns about potential Iranian retaliation and regional escalation.
