Tehran's Banks Coordination Council has restricted branch operations to 30% capacity for the week of June 21-26, Tasnim reported on June 19.

Israeli airstrikes across the city have made banking operations unsafe for customers and workers with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) offering support, but due to the ongoing unannounced strikes is unable to provide guidance for individual branches.

Selected branches will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for essential services only, with specific locations to be published on individual bank websites.

June 19 operations will continue under existing shift arrangements, according to the coordination council. Meanwhile, provincial banking operations remain under local government authority outside Tehran.

Banks are encouraging customers to use digital and remote services wherever possible during the restricted period, as individual banks may be closed despite directives due to a lack of staff in the city.

The coordination council stated that headquarters support units will assist the limited branch network during the reduced operating schedule. Only essential customer transactions will be processed during the four-hour daily window.

Digital banking platforms remain fully operational as alternatives to branch visits throughout the restricted period. The measure affects solely Tehran branches, with other regions maintaining separate operational guidelines based on decisions by respective provincial governors.

Banking services will prioritise urgent customer requirements during the limited hours of operation. Customers are expected to utilise non-attendance and online banking services wherever possible to reduce pressure on physical branches.
