SunExpress, the joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Germany's Lufthansa, will launch new flights to Aleppo in August as it resumes and expands operations across the Middle East following a temporary suspension of some routes due to regional tensions, SANA reported on July 9.

The airline said it will begin flights between Antalya and Aleppo on August 1, followed by services between Izmir and Aleppo on August 2.

Under the schedule, Antalya-Aleppo flights will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while Izmir-Aleppo flights will operate on Fridays and Sundays.

SunExpress said it had already resumed its Middle East network with twice-weekly flights between Izmir and Dubai, which restarted on July 7.

The carrier will further expand its regional network on 15 July by launching flights between Antalya and Dubai, Izmir and Beirut, and Antalya and Erbil.

Services between Antalya and Beirut are due to resume on July 16, followed by the reinstatement of flights between Trabzon and Bahrain on July 17.

SunExpress, jointly owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, operates scheduled leisure and regional services connecting Turkey with Europe and the Middle East.
