Argentine President Javier Milei will address the nation on September 15 to present the 2026 Budget, presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni confirmed on his X account.

Milei's direct presidential appeal on the budget is a first for the leader, rather than delegating the task to his economy minister as in previous years. The government is legally mandated to file the budget before the deadline.

The self-styled "anarcho-libertarian" leader's aggressive spending cuts have generated significant opposition from various sectors of Argentine society, with his La Libertad Avanza party suffering a notable defeat in Buenos Aires provincial elections last week.

The timing of this budget presentation will precede crucial midterm elections in October, which are set to determine the level of congressional support available to advance his bold economic agenda.
