Israeli-American cybersecurity firm Island has secured $400mn in a new funding round led by Evolution Equity Partners, catapulting its corporate valuation to $6.4bn.

The capital injection more than doubles the company's valuation from two years ago, bringing total funds raised to $1.13bn, according to the company’s press statement.

The round is backed by a syndicate of heavyweight institutional investors, including Sequoia, Coatue Management, J.P. Morgan, and Insight Partners, alongside a personal investment from CrowdStrike co-founder Dmitri Alperovitch.

The massive funding underscores a structural shift in enterprise IT infrastructure. Island launched six years ago to disrupt the market with a secure corporate browser.

Founded by Israeli military intelligence veteran Dan Amiga and former McAfee CTO Mike Pye, the company has since expanded its core platform into an AI-driven control environment, offering deep telemetry, data protection, and transparency over both human employee and AI agent activities.

"We have proven that there are no more sacred cows in technology. The largest organisations in the world buy Island before Google or Microsoft," Amiga told Calcalist.

The aggressive institutional backing reflects rising corporate demand to secure data directly at the application layer, fundamentally bypassing traditional network perimeters.

Island's architecture is increasingly adopted by global banks, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators seeking granular control over rapidly evolving work processes.

"Organisations are rethinking the fundamental architecture of work," Richard Seewald, founder and managing partner at Evolution Equity Partners, said in a press release. "The company has already proven that it can create a category, replace legacy technologies and accelerate business transformation for its customers, from the browser to the web."
