The Iranian army said it targeted US military facilities at Kuwait's Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base with attack drones, the state news agency IRNA reported on July 31, in what it described as the 27th phase of its Saeqeh operation.

The claim, part of a wave of Iranian strikes on Gulf states hosting US forces since the war began on February 28, could not be independently verified, and neither Kuwait nor the United States confirmed any damage. Iran has repeatedly said it targeted bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and elsewhere in response to US and Israeli attacks, though the extent of the reported damage has remained unclear throughout the conflict.

The army said its drones hit aircraft hangars, satellite communication systems and equipment warehouses at the base, according to a statement carried by IRNA. It described the strike as a response to recent US attacks on Iran, including one on a residential building on Qeshm island.

Ahmad al-Jaber plays a major role in US air and surveillance operations and serves as a key logistics and support hub for American forces in the region.

The army condemned the strike on civilian homes in Qeshm as a violation of humanitarian principles and a war crime, and said sanctions and threats had made Iran more united in what it called its sacred defence.

Wide-ranging strikes by the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had made it costly and difficult for the adversary to intercept Iranian drones and missiles despite advanced air defences, the statement said, adding that the enemy was resorting to heavy censorship to prevent news of casualties and damage from spreading.

Iran did not provide details on the extent of the reported damage or any casualties.
