RBL Bank Ltd (NSE:RBLBANK) has established a $1bn Euro Medium Term Note programme, creating a framework for the private-sector lender to raise funds through medium-term debt as it broadens access to international capital markets.

According to the text of a stock market filing by the bank, it disclosed the programme on September 8, 2026, under the Securities and Exchange Board of India listing requirements.

The offering circular has been submitted to India International Exchange (IFSC) Ltd, indicating that the programme is intended to support issuance through the financial centre at GIFT City. The $1bn facility sets a programme size rather than signalling an immediate bond sale.

RBL Bank did not provide details on any planned issuance, including the timing, currency, maturity, coupon or pricing of notes. The programme gives the bank flexibility to access debt investors as funding conditions evolve.

International medium-term note programmes can allow issuers to return to the market periodically, potentially diversifying funding sources beyond domestic deposits and local debt markets. For investors, the announcement is a funding and capital-markets development rather than an earnings event.

Future note issuances would provide more information on the bank’s borrowing costs, investor demand and appetite for Indian financial-sector credit. RBL Bank’s shares are listed on the BSE and National Stock Exchange of India.

The bank’s disclosure did not indicate whether or when it would draw on the programme, leaving the financial impact dependent on subsequent transactions.

The framework nevertheless provides RBL Bank with another channel for foreign-currency or other eligible medium-term financing, subject to market conditions and the terms of future offerings.
