Slovenian investment firm Advance Capital Partners has agreed to acquire a 70% stake in Maribor-based technology company Solviks, expanding its portfolio of IT companies and strengthening its focus on artificial intelligence solutions, Solviks said in a press release.

The transaction, agreed with Solviks owners Borut Jakovac and Ana Križman, remains subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities. Following completion, Solviks will become part of the Aeon Digital Group, through which Advance Capital Partners develops its IT businesses.

Advance Capital Partners said the investment will support Solviks' development of AI solutions and their broader integration into software design, development and business processes.

“Solviks has a team that knows how to modernise complex information systems and integrate artificial intelligence into business processes,” Advance Capital Partners CEO Aleš Škerlak said, adding that the company has already demonstrated this through projects for Slovenian retailers Big Bang and A2U.

The investor also plans to support Solviks' expansion into Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia and other Central and Eastern European markets, where demand for AI and advanced IT solutions is growing.

Jakovac, who will remain a co-owner and director, said the investment would accelerate the company's development and the integration of AI into its solutions. Solviks also plans to expand its K8-Cube platform with new modules and AI functions.

The acquisition will strengthen Aeon Digital Group's position in Slovenia's IT sector. Group director Andrej Fajfar said Solviks would complement existing companies Margis and Mikrocop by adding expertise in information-system modernisation, microservice architecture, business-process automation and AI.

Following the deal, Aeon Digital Group expects to have around 200 employees and annual revenue of more than €20mn, making it one of Slovenia's largest IT groups, according to Fajfar.
