Red caviar from Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai given as a gift to US President Donald Trump will be released in Russian retail under the name "That Very Trumpovka", the managing director of the production company said on December 18.

Dmitry Vologzhin, general director of the group of companies and manager of Khabarovsk's Eastern Fish Processing Plant, told state news agency TASS the nickname "Trumpovka" immediately stuck to the caviar amongst staff and customers.

"People say: 'Can I have some Trumpovka?' I'm now thinking of naming this caviar 'That Very Trumpovka'," Vologzhin said.

The same caviar is already available in shops in Moscow, St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk under the brand "Far Eastern Trophy".

The Khabarovsk Krai Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that US President's Special Representative Steven Witkoff gave Trump a case of red salmon caviar produced in Nikolaevsky District at a fish processing plant in Chnyrrakh village.

Witkoff tasted the product at lunch in Moscow's Savva restaurant before leaving for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The treat made such an impression on the US special representative that 24 jars of 200 grams each were purchased at the restaurant that evening as a gift for the American official, the report noted.

From Nikolaevsky District, the delicacy is transported to Khabarovsk, from where it is distributed to different regions of the country, with Moscow receiving the largest share.
